Before I became aware that there were other viewers to log in Second Life® besides the official one, I used to always use the Release Candidate viewer. Somehow, the RC always had a better performance than the official viewer which is weird - I know. Usually, in the RC it's expected to crash a lot more and have a poor performance but, for me, it was always the other way around. So, one day I decided to try the alternate viewers and got used to have 3 or 4 SL™ viewers in my desktop.
Lately, my preference goes to the Emerald viewer and it's quite easy to understand why. The team behind the Emerald build is one that listens to what SLers want in a viewer. We, residents, give suggestions and see them implemented with each release. Or the releases completely blows us away with the new features implemented. C'mom - how many viewers have a built in radar and AO and also extra attachment options?

Residents who use third party viewers with the functionality described above to violate our Terms of Service or Community Standards, will be warned and then suspended from the service.

Reading something like this make me thing if I am doing something wrong by using an alternate viewer, like Emerald, Imprudence or Kristen's viewer?

All day fundraiser event (9AM - 7PM SLT) on the Pemberley sim on October 11th.
We will be hosting an all day music event as well as offering exclusive discounts from various well known stores in SL.
All sales at this event will be donated to the Red Cross to benefit the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.

This blog is on the move. I am terrible sorry for the inconvenience. Soon, really soon, the moving will be complete. I will be posting in my own domain and in a WordPress 2.3.3 blog. The domain is up but need a lot of tweaking before it is ready. I am still looking for the perfect WP theme and after I find it, I need to change it to have an appearance similar to this one.
As for the feeds, I hope that with be soon added to all the feeds that have linked me previously and for that I am counting on feedburner.
The new blog will have a proper commentary system, a cut option that actually works and all the advantages that WP offers. If any of you, readers, has a suggestion to improve the layout of this blog, please let me know. Feedback is highly appreciated.

Please join us at one of two shows to see the next generation of fashion design talent.

We suggest coming about 10 minutes early to secure a seat, and suggest removing all extra scripted items from your avatar, including colour change accessories, HUDs, and Animation Overrides. Grid-Wide Treasure Hunt!

Over thirty designers have gotten together to produce a Valentine's Day Treasure Hunt that will span the grid! Each location will have a gift box hidden inside their store. The boxes will randomly change locations inside the store so you'll need to stay alert!

The starting location will be at Sweet Sorrows
This will not be open to the public open until 1:00am STL February 9.

The gift boxes will be displayed for you to see, and all instructions will be given at that time! Please read the signs at the location when you arrive, and follow the directions. Then head off across the grid to start your hunt!

The treasure hunt begins at 1:00am SLT February 9 and will continue until 11:00pm SLT February 11

Look for goodies for both men & women from the following designers:

CodeBastard Redgrave is one the best photographers around SL. She is doing an amazing series called the Red Boudoir that you can see on her flickr stream. A few nights ago, Codie took some pictures of me. Well, not some, lots. Time flies when you are around Codie. When we looked at the time, two hours have passed without neither of us noticing.

what I have been up to

The past few days, I have been mostly in the Beta grid or off world trying to make poses. After one year in SL, I suddenly felt the need to do something. I would like to learn how to script and I have always been curious about poses. I started by reading a few things in the wiki, search the forums for answers and bugged my twitter friends for help. So far I have a few scripted objects and 12 poses. It's not much and it's not perfect but it's something. The items aren't all in my OnRez store because SL went out when I was about to take pics of the poses.
That is the main reason why I have been posting much in here. Besides, I recently took up on a project to interview Portuguese speaking people in SL to publish here. My idea, my project - lots of work.
I can be reached by mail, GTalk or even Skype - if there's anything someone needs help with.

taxes in SL

This means that LL will charge me 21% when I purchase Lindens...
Example:
Without taxes I would buy 7,974.892L$ and spent 21€. Now, when I spend 21€ I will receive 6,592.577 L$ because 3.64€ is tax that LL will have to give EU.

21 € = 7,974.892 L$ = 29.723 US$
17.36 € = 6,592.577 L$ = 24.571 US$
3.64 € = 1,382.315 L$ = 5.152 US$

BTW, the 21€ is a RL example. I bought something that cost me 21€ and paid 3.64€ in tax.
VAT is different around EU countries and ours is one of the highest.

Who wants to bet that in the next month (at least) half of the premium accounts will disappear...?
